I remember 10-15 years ago alot of these things would have been sCandalous and unaCCeptable. Example was when Ellen Degeneres revealed that she was a lesbian. I remember as a young teenager the whole sCandal and how her Career was literally Changed overnight.
there are so many other examples but we see Crazy relationships on reality tv, hooking up with multiple people at the same time (The BaChelor, and etC.) and it is Crazy.
Plus alot of us in our 30s and 20s not to mention teens are repeating what we see. There's no concrete, tangible way to judge that. I think that's why we overlook it sometimes. Both of us, at times, have fallen victim to measuring life by accomplishments...etc. and comparing to other people. But, I'm glad to say, for the most part, I'm quite content. This year alone has been filled with new things (experiences, travels, relationships...etc.), for which I'm grateful. I agree -things could always be better, but I also agree that one's impact on lives & the bonds formed are most important. I believe I'm right where God wants me to be... and trust that He'll guide me the right direction if I'm not. Even though you had the concept from 2001, you held on to your dream and I am sure you learned many things along the way that helped you to bring this into realization.
I too had a project that the concept came to me in 2006 but I am just now finishing it up in 2009. But one thing I noticed if I had tried to hurry and finish up the project in 2006, the end result would have been much different that the product that I have now. I have learned so much, gained so much insight from experiences that I feel as if that three year gap between the seed and the birth of the dream, really prepared me to have a better and great product. I think it was awesome for her to express her views and opinions; however she was flustered and did not answer the question properly and I guess in the wisest way.
I think that she made the wrong decision to support her statement which was a little messy...versus clarifying what she meant.

She is making it seem like she is being persecuted for that statement. I don't think she is being persecuted at all.

I am a Christian and I am against gay marriage. I know how it feels to be asked an unexpected question on the spot; especially a question such as that one, which I would have never expected such a controversial question to be asked at a national pageant. So I didn't blame her for being very flustered; however she could have rebounded in a different way.

Jesus, our Lord, when faced with pertinent controversial questions of the time in which He set foot on earth...Divorce, Sabbath, Forgiveness of sins, ,etc. He answered in such a way that critics and unbelievers had to find ways to comeback at Him.

As a Christian I am disappointed by the way she chose to react to the backlash that she received. I believe she should have clarified and made clear the root of her beliefs a little bit more. Instead of just making it a moral issue.

Because look at what happen now...they found explicit photos of her...now secular people are scoffing and stating..."Look at her morals".

We as Christians are not perfect at all, and many times when we mess up, but thank God we can look forward. However, we need to make sure when dealing with unbelievers we need to be a great light, wise, and shrewd. Miss California failed to do it.

I am not sure what type of cause she is campaigning for...I am still trying to figure it out.

I am not sure if she is a Christian; but she did state that her response is based on morality.

Yes, I have dealt with the same thing. I'm learning (in the words of Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church - Seattle), "I'm a proud man in pursuit of humility." None of us can report: "And I am proud to announce that I am humble!" When we think about it, the only one who is truly humble is Jesus. And He is the only one worthy of teaching us about humility, since He is the only one qualified to do so by His coming into human history to be crucified on account of us: proud sinners. How great is our God indeed!

Speaking for myself, I know the Lord is my guide.I...

Speaking for myself, I know the Lord is my guide.I believe we must have the courage to step out on Faith and do the seemingly impossible.2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;but of power, and of Love, and of a sound mind.
